CLARKSON-LEGG COVERED BRIDGE
Where: Bethel in Cullman County, Alabama
When Built: 1904
GPS Coordinates: 34°12′27.08″N, 86°59′27.35″W
This pedestrian-only bridge was built on the property of James Legg, a local mail carrier, who saw a need for the structure and supplied many of the materials. It was destroyed by a flood in 1931 and rebuilt the following year, ironically for the same price it originally cost to build, $1,500.
